  • The Education Foundation supports student programs, projects and initiatives that do not receive tax-based funding. It also promotes and recognizes academic excellence by students and innovative instruction by teachers and staff.

  • A community is more attractive to business because of effective, strongly-supported public schools. The Education Foundation expresses that support. It also builds bridges between schools and the community, between current leaders and the leaders of tomorrow.

  • The Education Foundation raises private-sector funds to support academic goals and achievement at every school in our district. The specific application of the funds “granted” by the Foundation to Lorena ISD is at the discretion of the Education Foundation Board of Directors. The PTO plays a key role in raising money for campus-specific enhancements and providing parent volunteers in each of the district’s ten schools to help teachers with an array of day-to-day classroom needs. LISD EF and the PTO work in tandem to provide complementary resources that benefit each school in our district.

  • The Education Foundation is a bridge between our community and Lorena ISD. By supporting our public schools, the Education Foundation makes a difference in the lives of district students and adds to the vitality of the community. Your gift to the Foundation will help fund the gap between the adequate education supported by state funding and the excellent education we strive to provide for all of our children.

  • Tax dollars provide for teaching the State of Texas’ approved curriculum. Education Foundation for Lorena ISD grants enhance that instruction by funding opportunities and experiences beyond the scope of normal school budgets.

  • The Foundation is governed by an independent, volunteer Board of Directors including business and community leaders, parents and alumni in the Lockhart community who are committed to our schools’ success. While the Education Foundation operates independently of Lorena ISD, it shares a vision of educational excellence and student achievement. The corporation is organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Education Foundation shall receive and disburse funds, property and gifts of any kind exclusively for the benefit of Lorena Independent School District.
